Getting Life “Just Right”

One of the fun things about WordPress blogs is that they offer a daily writing prompt to jump start the posting activity for any given day. Today they suggested writing about a Goldilocks experience, a time in life when things were “Just Right.” I figured this is a worthy thought, but not because I have a few times when things were “Just Right,” but because I know how you can find life, as a whole, to be right for all the days you have left before you.

It’s very simple to get your life “Just Right.” Make the decision today to claim Jesus as your Lord and Savior!

In Romans 6:23, the Apostle Paul reminded us of a particular spiritual truth:

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 [NIV]

Life is not right when, in the end, all that we have waiting for us is death. This death is not just the physical end to our time on earth, but the eternal end of joy, peace, love, and happiness. When we refuse to accept Jesus as our Master and Lord, we are condemning ourselves to a life in Hell apart from him, which is what the Bible refers to as spiritual death. We would all agree that a life without joy, peace or love is not the kind of life we want, but these are blessings that the Lord alone can sustain.

Consider this for a moment: We may find joy in our families, but who is it that gave them breath? You may find peace in a particular town, gathering a great life around yourself, but who is really keeping you safe each day? You may believe that you have found the perfect love in your life, but when you evaluate it compared to what God call’s love in 1 Corinthians 13, would that love hold when compared to what God offers?

Not one person reading this post would desire a life completely void of love, peace, joy or happiness, but that is what is due to those who do not know Jesus as Lord. However, scripture also teaches that accepting the Lord’s call to repentance and forgiveness will give us eternal life. You can look for the fairy tale kind of life, where a moment here and there feels just right, but take some time to learn about Jesus Christ and you will find that Jesus offers a life that is as right as it comes, and that is right with his Father, the God of all.

There is truth in our world, and it lies within the word of the One who created the world.  It is my prayer that my thoughts and writings echo this truth and inspire you to seek it for your life today!
