Not a Substitute

No Substitutes Obviously, I think Christian Music is valuable for helping us hear more of God’s Word, or help us in processing what it means. I’ve also made it clear that Christian Music can be a tool for evangelism too. So, while I am not saying my blog is pointless, I would like to remind you that nothing beats the real thing!

Where would Christian Music be without the Bible? NOWHERE! IT WOULD NOT EXIST! Everything we hear in a Christian song should align with the truth we know about God’s Word, The Bible. Christian Music needs a foundation build on the Bible.

When you find yourself in need of a word from God, Christian Music may help remind you of what God would say, but why settle for that when you can KNOW what God’s word said? If I need to know what someone has said, I can get the most information by going straight to them! The same is true for God’s Word.

As I write, 1 Peter 3:15 also comes to mind, ‘Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.’ In a court of law, an the best witnesses are the ones who know what happened first hand. Christian Music is only the artists take on the message of the Bible. The Bible can tell us what God said, because it is HIS WORD!

So, a reminder from me to you, enjoy the music you hear here, but be sure to be in the word too! – Timothy
