This tune of classic rock came as the 9th track on PETRA’s 1995 album, ‘No Doubt.’ As you will listen, you will pick up on an obvious scriptural connection. Philippians 4:8 is at the heart of this tune. For those who are not completely familiar with the passage I am referring to:
‘Finally Brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise dwell on these things.” Phil 4:8 HCSB
The songs simply wants to remind us that we have the ability to adjust our thoughts anytime we would like to make life better or seem easier. Particularly in our day and age, when negativity is so easy to come by, the ability to shift our thoughts to what is good and right is a useful tool, and one that a Christian should spend some time cultivating. That’s not too bad of a message for a 20 year old tune, is it?
I hope you will enjoy this track from the master’s of Christian Classic Rock! – Timothy
