‘And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.‘ Philippians 1:6 (ESV)
There is no mistaking the classic gospel style of ‘It’s Done’ from Anita Wilson. The message of this tune is not too complicated; God’s plan for you and I is set in stone, so what He wants us to be is either done or on the way! This song is a joyful expression of confidence in the ability of God to complete what He plans for each life that is seeking to serve Him.
This weekend, my wife and I listened to a sermon from Jim Duggar about counting our trials as joy, and the appropriate way a Christian can handle trouble. This song can bring you and I to an appropriate mindset as we face hardship. The work God has planned will come, and the trials we face are simply bumps along the road. Towards the end of the song, Anita encourages that God will give us ‘Power for this hour,’ and even this is true because God is willing to come along side us and give us the strength we need to triumph. ‘It’s Done,’ has the right attitude, because knowing God’s plans are set in stone is something to celebrate.
Take a break at some point today and enjoy this encouraging tune. Trust that what God wants is already done. – Timothy
