Saturday Night Call to Worship: ‘Sing, Sing, Sing’ from Chris Tomlin

‘Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.‘ Hebrews 13:15 (ESV)

Believe it or not, but this is the first time a song from Chris Tomlin has been featured as a Saturday Night Call to Worship. If you’ve been keeping up with our twitter feed, you’ll know that I’ve been driving around Virginia a lot lately for work. This past week I was playing a top 30 worship album, and I heard this song for the first time in a long time. I was taken back to my college days when 50-100 students would gather at our BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministries) Monday night service and we’d get our worship on. We had a great time praising God and those were great times with my Brewton-Parker College friends as Jeremy Curtis led the band.

chris-tomlin‘Sing, Sing, Sing,’ is one of those praise and worship songs that is easy to learn and memorize. This song speaks to the reality that we as God’s people can just worship as much as we want, with as much joy and passion as we want. Why? The better question is, WHY NOT? As the song says, ‘What’s not to Love about’ Jesus? He a savior, companion, he offers guidance and freedom from sin. On top of all this, trusting in Him gives us life eternal. These are all good things. So as Chris Tomlin recommends, let’s ‘Make Music with the Heavens,’ knowing the God hears our praises and is pleased when we choose to express that love to him.

As you prepare for worship tomorrow, thing about that question; ‘What’s not to love about Jesus?’  I think that you will enter your worship time tomorrow more prepared to glorify God for what He brings to our lives, and that is always a good way to feel in worship. Enjoy your weekend! -Timothy
