‘Running’ from Deitrick Haddon

“I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14 (ESV)

Hello Friends!

What does your life look like lately? Is it full of Joy or contentment? Are you feeling satisfied? If you can answer yes, this song may not speak to you as much, but I’m writing because I know that there will be readers who need to hear this challenge tune from Dietrick Haddon. (Song Lyrics Here)

I love the reference to Johan is the second verse of this song, Running. Many of you have heard the story of Jonah since you were a preschooler. One thing we know is that Jonah never had peace as long as he lived in conflict with God’s plan. When he ran from Nineveh, his running got him literally eaten alive. When he found himself at odds with God’s forgiveness at the sight of Nineveh’s repentance, he found his comfort taken from him in the form of the vine that was eaten which again exposed Jonah to the heat of the sun. RUNNING FROM GOD IS NOT AND WILL NEVER BE A SOURCE OF COMFORT!

I’m not saying that all pain means you are living contrary to God, but an honest Christian will take the time to examine their life to be sure. In fact, in Philippians 2:12, Paul instructs the church to examine their faith with fear and trembling, in regards to the need for holy living.

“Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” Philippians 2:12 (ESV)

Every believer has a calling on their life! This calling may just simply be to holy living among your family and in your career. For some, it will be to a vocation or a ministry. Regardless of what call you receive from the Holy Spirit, I can assure you that a calling from God cannot be ignored. Feel free to resist, but remember that running away only tells God that he needs to come after you with something other than His love to get your attention. It is because He loves us, that he won’t let us run without putting things in our life that could force you or me to reconsider which direction our life needs to be headed. Simply put by Deitrick, Why don’t you give His love a try?”

Join me today, and each day, in running towards our Savoir and the life he has for us! – Timothy

‘Running’ is the third song on the album Masterpiece from Deitrick Haddon.
